Disney+ is reportedly working on a spinoff series to WandaVision. GeekTyrant claims the series will focus on the character Agatha Harkness, memorably portrayed on the show by the actress and comedian Kathryn Hahn. Jac Schaeffer – creator of WandaVision – is apparently behind this spinoff, too. As of yet, we have no details about the plot of the show, except that is meant to be a dark comedy.
WandaVision was the first Marvel TV series that premiered on Disney+. The show featured Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen reprising their performances as Vision and Wanda Maximoff from MCU movies. Other MCU regulars included Randall Park (Ant-Man) and Kat Dennings (Thor) with a special cameo appearance of Evan Peters, who played Quicksilver in Sony’s recent X-Men films. They were joined by Fred Melamed (A Serious Man), Debra Jo Rupp (That ’70s Show), and Teyonah Parris (Dear White People).
But it was Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha that stole the show as a nosy neighbor who turns out to be the principal villain. Throughout the years Hahn proved she can play both dramatic (Revolutionary Road) and comedic roles (Bad Moms, Parks and Recreation) with ease. As for Schaeffer, this screenwriter and filmmaker already worked on several Marvel movies, including Captain Marvel and this year’s Black Widow. WandaVision was nominated for eight Primetime Emmy Awards and fifteen Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
