Jeremy Irons to Play Lead In Damon Lindelof/HBO’s Watchmen Series

It pains me to report that this Damon Lindelof’s ‘remix’ of writer Alan Moore and artist Dave Gibbons limited comic series Watchmen is still moving forward. According to Deadline, Jeremy Irons (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Red Sparrow (2018)) has joined the butchery and will be playing the lead the role

Irons joins the cast currently consisting of Don Johnson, Tim Blake, Regina King, Louis Gossett Jr., Adelaide Clemens and Andrew Howard. Lindelof will write the pilot and Television Director Nicole Kassell will be helming.

There is not a tinge of optimism from me regarding this project, my thoughts on this whole thing are well documented. I think Damon Lindelof is pretty much trash and according to this report from Film Goblin HBO’s stewardship will do little to reign in the banality…and utter stupidity that is sure to ensue. I predict a dumpster-fire of epic proportions. I will have to hear about it second-hand though for wild horses couldn’t drag me in front of the screen streaming this mess.
