Jamie Clayton (Sense8, Designated Survivor) will portray the new Pinhead in the upcoming remake of Clive Barker’s 1987 cult horror classic Hellraiser. AVClub says Clayton will join the cast that already includes Hiam Abbass (Blade Runner 2049, The OA), Odessa A’zion (Fam, Grand Army), Brandon Flynn (13 Reasons Why, Ratched), Aoife Hinds (Derry Girls, Nightflyers), Selina Lo (Boss Level, Triple Threat), Chase Stokes (Outer Banks, Scream: Resurrection), and Goran Višnjić (The Boys, Timeless).

The project was in development hell for a good long while, changing directors, screenwriters, and producers in the process. David Bruckner (The Ritual, The Night House) will direct the new Hellraiser, based on a script by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski. David S. Goyer (Blade trilogy, Dark Knight trilogy) will produce it, and Clive Barker is onboard as well. Barker not only directed the first Hellraiser but also wrote the horror novella it is based on – The Hellbound Heart.

Both novella and the movie franchise it spawned tell a story off magical puzzle box that can unlock a gateway into a Hell-like dimension ruled by Cenobites, former humans who became sadomasochistic monsters mixing pain and pleasure. To date, there have been ten Hellraiser films.

Hellraiser will be released exclusively on Hulu.
