I was….not wowed by the first trailer for David Gordon Green’s Halloween (the eleventh of the franchise). I thought the characterization of Michael Myers was off. Something which would only compound other issues with the film I was sure. Of course, I thought that the remake to Stephen King’s IT was going to be stir-fried poo and was moderately surprised it was as good as it was (even though they completely butchered two of the characters)…and relied too much on jump scares.
This may surprise me as well, who knows.
“So I can kill him.”
I don’t get the third person perspective thing they have going on. It was much more interesting seeing the world through Michael’s mask. This method dilutes the suspense and kind of makes Michael seem like he’s some sort of autistic savant who instead of counting things looks for weapons to stab people. I don’t really want to spend that much time with Michael as he prepares to do his thing, TMI.
Also…Curtis’s jowls are still distracting me.
Halloween starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Will Patton, Virginia Gardner, James Jude Courtney, Omar J. Dorsey, Miles Robbins, Dylan Robbin walks into theaters October 19, 2018.
