Directed by Lars Klevberg from a screenplay by Tyler Burton Smith, Child’s Play is a remake of the 1988 film of the same name.

Toruk's Take

I thumbs-downed the notion of them remaking this series. I especially thumbs-downed the idea of Chucky being some kind of robot. One of the aspects of the original character that kept this rather silly premise afloat was the distinct, yet oddly charismatic personality of the primary antagonist. Will this incarnation be some soulless, murdering, thing, or will they attempt to give this new entity some flavor via his electric dreams?

I guess we’ll find out.

Child’s Play starring Aubrey Plaza, Gabriel Bateman, Brian Tyree Henry and Tim Matheson slashes into theaters June 21, 2019.
