Bruce Campbell Reveals Evil Dead 4 Title and Its Director

Bruce Campbell made his name by playing bumbling hero Ash Williams in Sam Raimi’s cult horror trilogy Evil Dead. Now, he and Raimi are producing the fourth film in the series. According to a recent interview Campbell gave to Empire, its title is Evil Dead Now and it will be directed by Lee Cronin.

Cronin is an Irish director and screenwriter who drew notice last year with his feature-length horror debut The Hole in the Ground. In it, a single mother (Seána Kerslake) starts noticing disturbing changes in her son’s (James Quinn Markey) behavior after he visits a mysterious sinkhole in the middle of the forest.

Last October, Raimi discussed his plans for a new Evil Dead movie starring Campbell as well as a possible sequel to the 2013 remake by Fede Álvarez. In the meantime, Campbell officially retired from the role and Raimi replaced Scott Derrickson as a director of Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. As for Álvarez, he’s currently working on a live-action film adaptation of the video game Dante’s Inferno. Additionally, he’s writing a sequel to his 2013 home invasion thriller Don’t Breathe.
